One of My Favorite Ignite Presentations

I love this Ignite presentation (see below).   It is called “When Good People Use Bad Fonts”. In the design business, we unfortunately see this happen all the time – like the Architect that insisted on making his new logo with font Papyrus (cringe).   But this is a good example of what an Ignite presentation should be.   Ignite presentations are supposed to inspire, educate, be funny, and be told passionately.  Good Ignite presentations should be focused on design, technology, the environment, health, community, sustainability, or everyday instructional tips that are helpful.  Some of the best presentations are on off the wall subjects like “I am not a Mexican” and “How to buy a car without getting screwed“.

Ignite presentations can be many things.  One thing that they CANNOT be, is advertising.  Don’t be shy!  Ask us to be a speaker, talk about what you are passionate about, make it funny, engaging, and educational and you are set.
