We had such a great time hosting the first ever Ignite event in Dover, Delaware Wednesday night.
Even with the rain, the severe storms up north, and other small challenges we pulled off our first IgnteDover event with your help. Our goal is to have an Ignite Dover event about every three months. The next event will be in October, and we will email you the details soon.

If you, or someone that you know would be a good speaker for Ignite Dover, please give us a pitch for your idea. We will limit the number of speakers at Ignite Dover 2 to only 10 speakers (we had 12 this time).

The bulk of the expenses for Ignite Dover were paid out of pocket by Delaware.Net. For the next event, we would like to have additional sponsors to keep the event free of charge for attendees. Lessons Learned from Ignite Dover 1
We got some great feedback from attendees and speakers that will help us make the next event even better.
- Breaks – The most obvious change we need to make is fewer breaks. We had 12 speakers and two breaks. Next time we will just one break, which will keep things moving right along.
- Speakers – We had some heavy hitters from New Castle County participate, and they were great. For the next event, we would like to get more Kent County community leaders involved to show more of what the area has to offer. Naturally, speakers can be from all over, but just adding a couple of community leaders would be good.
- Limited Marketing in Presentations – Ignite presentations are meant to be fun and educational, with little or no marketing in them. Some marketing got through (you know who you are), and we will make sure it doesn’t happen next time.
- Wine – Some folks don’t drink beer, so next time we will to have a wine sponsor as well.Thanks again for your support, and we hope to see you at Ignite Dover 2!
